Use a Ledger or Trezor
Hardware wallets work with SignBit today. Sparrow talks to the device; SignBit never does. Your key stays on the device and confirms every transaction on its own screen.
1. What works
Any device that can join a multisig wallet and sign a PSBT will do, and that includes Ledger, Trezor, Blockstream Jade and Keystone. Sparrow drives the device for you.
2. Connect the device to Sparrow
Plug it in and unlock it, or use its SD card or QR codes if you prefer to keep it fully offline. Sparrow supports all three.
3. Enroll the public key
Export the account public key and fingerprint from the device and enroll them in your SignBit vault. Only public information leaves the device.
4. Register the vault on the device
Some devices need the multisig setup registered before they will recognise addresses as their own. Sparrow walks you through this. Without it, the device will still sign but cannot confirm that change is coming back to you.
5. Sign, and confirm on the screen
Follow the Sparrow flow. When the device shows the recipient and amount, read them on the device itself and approve only if they match.
